Description
A field interrupted by a fragment of trade and memory.
A reclaimed sugar sack occupies the center of the composition, interrupting the surrounding textile field of denim and stitched fragments. The printed text—once purely functional—becomes a focal point, carrying associations of labor, commerce, and movement across geographies.
Around it, the surface is constructed from layered strips and small units, suggesting accumulation, reuse, and the passage of materials through different lives. The work shifts between abstraction and artifact, where cloth becomes both structure and document.
